Seniors

I’ve been playing Counter-Strike:Source since I first pre-ordered Half Life 2 initially just to tide me over with eye candy until HL2 unlocked where upon I figured I would never load it again. Well what do you know, over a year later and I still play an hour or so almost every night. Initially I just liked the solid feel and good looks, but the feature that kept me coming back was nothing exclusive to CS:S – it was a clan.

I visited the Steam forums and saw an advert for a clan of over 25s called Seniors or |SNR| so I thought I would apply, mainly because playing in public servers with random people doesn’t really allow for good teamplay. Given teamplay is pretty much the counterstrike mantra I knew I was missing something. So I picked a name ( Newton ) and I sent a mail and after a good chat with the recruiter on MSN I was accepted and started playing as |SNR|Newton that night. Since then I haven’t looked back and now multiplayer gaming seems kind of empty when playing alone without a team.

As a clan, we just play for fun as none of us think we are the best. So it’s just friendly matches with whoever comes by the server and we play in the CCSSL league – and here we usually receive quite a hammering in. We are basically as unelite as can be, although given we have some sixty plus year old guys we’d certainly not be considered nubs.
